United Way of Hopewell-Prince George has chosen the leaders for the 2011 Campaign

Chairman for the Hopewell area will be R. Christopher Neal. Chris is a native of Hopewell and graduated from James Madison University with a B.S. in Political Science with a Minor in History in 1991.  Since 1993, he has been the co-owner and Vice-President of Randolph Market, starting to work there as a child and later becoming a partner with his uncle, Thomas Neal.  He had the honor of receiving the Chamber of Commerce” Voice of Business Award” in 2005.  Mr. Neal is a member of many organizations including the Historic Hopewell Foundation, Virginia Historical Society, Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, James River Ball Patron, Woodlawn Presbyterian Church, and serves on the Board of Directors for United Way of Hopewell-Prince George.  Chris and his wife Sharon have 4 children and reside in Hopewell.
Leading the Prince George area is Traci L. Hackley, General Manager of Baymont Inn and Suites and Hooah’s Sports Grill in Prince George.  Traci is originally from Waxhaw, NC.  After graduating from Wingate University with a B.S. in Business Administration she worked for Loyola Federal Bank in Ellicott, MD for several years. After marrying and starting a family, in 1998 she moved to Hopewell where most of her family resides .  She and her husband Glenn have 3 daughters and 2 granddaughters.  Traci has been very active in the community since moving here, involved with the Hopewell Quarterback League for many years, the Victim/Witness Assistance Program with the Hopewell Police Department, and chairing the Hotels Division in the 2009 United Way of Hopewell-Prince George Campaign. She enjoys being involved in her community and she has formed great alliances in the area.
The Campaign will kickoff Thursday, September 15th at a luncheon to be held at Hopewell Moose Lodge. The goal this year is $325,000, with proceeds supporting 23 local agencies providing much needed services in the area.  Dollars contributed to United Way are allocated where they will do the most good for the entire community by volunteers, people like you, who decide how much is allocated, based on a continuing review process to assure contributors that every dollar is spent wisely. So, please give generously, so that we can all LIVE UNITED, in giving, volunteering, and advocating for our community.
Our list of participating agencies shows the wide range of services United Way supports in this area.  When you contribute to the United Way Campaign, you are participating in a community-wide fundraiser, supporting the needs of the local area. If you choose to designate to an agency outside of the local area through the United Way campaign, you can support the needs of your favorite charity while participating in the local fund drive.
